| | | Vivaldi - Concertos for Violin, Cello & Flute
Christian Mendoze(flute), Pablo Valetti(violin) & Philippe Foulon(cello) Musica Antiqua, Christian Mendoze (director) Vivaldi left behind a multitude of concertos for cello which, although performed less often than the concertos for violin and for flute, stand out as veritable jewels of the composer’s concerto style. This release demonstrates admirably the three lead instruments, Christian Mendoze(flute), Pablo Valetti(violin), Philippe Foulon(cello) in a passionate performance from the ensemble. Christian Mendoze founded Musica Antiqua in 1981 in the Provence region. The ensemble performs music from the 17th & 18th centuries on original or copies of early instruments. |

Concentus musicus Wien, Nikolaus Harnoncourt “Harnoncourt's 1969 survey of 17th-century programme music at last surfaces complete. It fully lives up to its billing, never overdoing the silliness even in Schmelzer's zaniest moments.” BBC Music Magazine, September 2008 **** |

Concerto Koln, Werner Ehrhardt The concertos of Vivaldi are amongst his most widely known works. At the centre of this output is
the famous “Four Seasons” but alongside this and deserving just as much attention is “La
Tempesta di Mare” (The Storm at Sea). Collected here are some of Vivaldi’s most energetic and
inspirational concerto compositions. Concerto Koln plays with all their usual brilliance. Performed
on historical instruments. | | | Usually despatched in 3 - 4 working days. |
