Tchaikovsky: | Symphony No. 2 in C minor, Op. 17 'Little Russian' Tchaikovsky wrote his Second Symphony in the Ukraine, explaining the (unusual) abundance of
Ukrainian songs which form the thematic basis of this Symphony. This was not characteristic for
Tchaikovsky but led him to declare this his favourite Symphony despite it being less popular than
