Konstantin Lifschitz (piano) For the first time complete on a modern concert grand the Musical
Offering that Bach presented to King Frederick the Great of
Prussia, together with three toccatas by Frescobaldi, a composer
highly regarded by Bach and whose keyboard style is as genuinely
pianistic as that of Chopin and Scriabin.
In 1994, Russian pianist Konstantin Lifschitz burst onto the
international scene with a recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations.
The CD received a Grammy nomination and was praised as the
most convincing Bach interpretation since Glenn Gould.
Today, at 31, Lifschitz is celebrated for his musical sensibility and nuanced playing. "Not since Glenn Gould's debut recordings has a young pianist tackled this challenging work with similar executional ease and unbridled joy. What marvelous music-making, and to think the pianist was sixteen when he recorded this!" Jed Distler, Amazon.com [Goldbergs] “Lifschitz makes as strong a case as any for Bach on the grand piano.” Gramophone Magazine, May 2008 | | | Usually despatched in 2 - 3 working days. |

But looks aren't everything: they sounded like brothers, in that their playing had the kind of bracing empathy of ideas and feelings that characterizes all great chamber ensembles.” The New York Times | | | Usually despatched in 2 - 3 working days. |
