Music by Busnois, Desprez, Ockeghem, Obrecht, Stockem and Passereu.
Les haulz et les bas, Ian Harrison (director) The Alta Capella consisted of the "loud" wind instruments: shawms, trumpets and (later) trombones. "Alta" is Latin for "high" – not only did these instruments sound high and loud, they were usually played from high galleries (or towers) and provided high entertainment for people in high positions. In the Middle Ages they even accompanied dancing. |
