Münchner Dommusik & Ecco la Musica, Karl-Ludwig Nies (director) Orlando di Lasso's arrival at Munich Cathedral marked the start of a golden age of music. It was a post di Lasso held for almost forty years. Karl-Ludwig Nies, the Cathedral's present Kapellmeister presents a cross section of the Domkapelle's repertoire in and around Lasso's time, including works by his son Ferdinand. This recording was made in the historically authentic setting of Munich Cathedral where the vast echo gives the music a profound resonance. |
